TransportAirport
We can advise on flights and arrange private transport to and from the airport at Dalaman. The journey is one and a half hours on good roads. You pay in Kalkan in sterling at the previously arranged fixed price..
Taxis
These are readily available in the village for short or long trips – there is a published schedule for longer journeys.
Car Hire
There are many car hire companies. We can provide help and arrange it if you wish – rates are competitive, and you pay there in sterling, which saves fluctuations in exchange rates.
Within Kalkan there is no need for a car because of the short distances, the low cost of taxis, and the difficulty parking in the old town. As an alternative to weekly hire you can always rent by the day. We can provide you with a schedule of rates.
Dolmus
Minibuses which run very frequently between Kalkan, Kas ( a spectacular 30 minute drive for 75p each way and well worth it for the drive alone), Patara Beach, Fethiye and other places.
Villa Manzara
A ten minute easy walk to the old part of the village – rather more going back, say 20 minutes. The alternatives are a free minibus from the Samira de Luxe, 200 yards away, or a taxi at a very modest metered rate and worth every penny for the return when the weather is hot !!!
Footnote
As there are steps leading down to the villa and to the vine and pool terraces, the villa may not be suitable for those of limited mobility. Part of the short walk to the village is over unmade up road and is not really suitable for toddlers.
